“Ask the Master Gardener” Plant Clinic is every Monday...

  9:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.
  Government Annex Building
  (Corner of CR 466 & Morse Boulevard)

Bring pictures of plants or plant material for gardening, turf or pest problems.


Plant Q & A

Bradenton Plant Q & A is a monthly event held the 1st Thursday of every month.

 1:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m.
 Bradenton Recreation Center
 (1300 Pinellas Place)

A panel of Sumter County Master Gardeners hold an open forum for residents of The Villages. Ask questions about any problems with turf, plants, or pests in your landscape. Feel free to bring pictures or parts of plants that you want to talk about.

Remember to bring your Village ID.


Master Gardener Speaker Series

Morning Speaker:

UF/IFAS Sumter County Master Gardeners present a speaker the 4th Tuesday of each month. The first program in this series is in the morning.

Tuesday, January 27th
 9:00 a.m. — 10:00 a.m.
 Savannah Center

The topic will be “Pruning: When, Where & How”. When do you hard prune Roses? How and when do you prune Crape Myrtles, Hibiscus, Knockout Roses, and freeze damaged plants?


Afternoon Speakers:

The Tuesday, January 27th program in the afternoon series is held at two locations.

     1:00 p.m. — 2:00 p.m.
     Seabreeze Recreation Center

3:00 p.m. — 4:00 p.m.
Eisenhower Recreation Center

The topic will be “Growing Fruit & Vegetable Crops”. There are two growing seasons for vegetables in Central Florida. Learn the right varieties to grow in Zone 9A, when to start seeds and when to transplant seedlings. How about growing blueberries, pears, peaches & plums?
