Jupiter
Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, about 11 times the diameter of the earth. It rotates once every 10 hours. This planet was made famous by the collision of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9. The impact was most powerful event ever witnessed in the solar system and it created impact sites bigger than the diameter of the earth.
HST shot of Jupiter showing comet impact sites
The top Picture was done using eye piece projection with a 9mm lens. It's a crummy shot but it's the best I could do.
The bottom picture shows Jupiter's 4 brightest satellites: Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. It looks a lot like what you would see through a telescope at low power, except there is more color and detail through a scope.
