The Trifid Nebula

In my opinion the Trifid Nebula is one of most photographically beautiful objects in the sky. It is that pinkish color that jumps out at me. After seeing this picture I am convinced that the color comes from the combined light of the blue and red areas.

This is a half hour exposure with an f10 C8 on hypered Fuji Super G 800. The original paper print was so dim that I did not feel like it was worthy to be scanned, but the slide scanner has changed it into an OK prime focus shot.
