Home to Piney Woods & Wild Bill it is best
know (or notorious) fer the 'damn bear' at the 100 yd. line. We're also
the home of the first "Vertical Plate Rack" designed by Piney.
Newton prides itself for being a
low key shoot and the best place fer a first time shooter to learn the ropes of
CAS. We're also proud not to have class(es) or prizes - except for a clean
match. We've gone from 1 to 2 pistols & 3 to 6 stages over the years.
We are also the place with the odd theme matches including:
Tombstone, The Godfather, West Side Story, Mothers, Gamer's Delight, "Write them
yourself" and the Driftwood & Jake Memorial Matches among others. Our
twisted little minds can make a match from anything.
Site of my first official SASS CAS Shoot in 2/02 and
home of the oldest CAS Club in NH (started in the 1980's but established in
1993) as well as most of N.E. Home to Callous Clyde, Dakota Joe, C.C. Slaughter, Skatter and the Regulators leadership was turned over to Capt Morgan Rum.
Home of the "stupid fence" and tippy table Candia was the site of the first SASS NH State Championship in
'01 and again in '04. It was also host to the first SASS NH
State Black Powder Championships (2005-2008) and will be to the Intergalactic
Black Power Championships starting in 2009. The unique format of these
matches is the inclusion of a single shot long range rifle with the standard
pistol/rifle/shotgun format.
