T/Sgt Robert Earl Waldon's hometown was Napa, California. He entered the service in Oakland, California at 21 years of age.  He recieved his parachute training at Fort Benning, GA.  T/Sgt. Waldon was assigned to the 504th in 1942 right out of jump school when the unit was first formed.  He arrived in Europe in March of 1943 at Casablanca in North Africa.  He made 3 combat jumps (crash landing on the 3rd).  T/Sgt. Waldon took part in the Anzio, Sicily, Holland, Ardennes and Germany operations.

He considers the "Sicily Operation" to be the 504th Greatest Accomplishment.
