Pfc. Hubert Wolfe's hometown was Altadena, California. He entered the service in Pasadena, California at 18 years of age on February 2, 1943. He recieved his parachute training at Fort Benning, GA. Pfc. Wolfe arrived in North Africa in September of 1943 and was assigned to the 504th in Italy, December 1943. He served as a BAR man and later as a Supply Sgt. with 2nd platoon under platoon leaders Lt. Marcus and S/Sgt. Lowe. Pfc. Wolfe took part in the Africa, Casino & Anzio, Italy; Holland and Ardennes & Belgium operations.
He considers the fact that "We accomplished all of our assigned objectives" the 504th Greatest Accomplishment.
Some of his combat buddies were: Simms, Johnny Kellogg, Lowe, Soltis, John Barton, Scamihorn, Penniger and Grimes.
A comment Pfc. Wolfe wished to include as part of this record is " I didn't like Montgomery, although I respected the British soldiers."
