And then there was one. Badfinger may go down in history books as the only rock band to have two suicides. On his solo debut, After the Pearl (Earthtone), survivor Joey Molland has remained true to the high standards of pop craftsmanship to which Badfinger always aspired. Not that this will change his fortunes any; it's the kind of 60's rooted mixture of melodic rock and earnest ballads that, like the pearl, is rare and highly valued but appreciated by very few.
