Social Security and other things
[Letter submitted to Sen. William Armstrong, 9 January 1983]

Dear Senator Armstrong:

This letter is written in direct response to your appearance on Face the Nation today, but it covers also other subjects.

I am on Social Security, and I ask that you take my honest judgement into serious consideration.

To achieve success, it is absolutely necessary to remove payments for children from the Social Security program, and to transfer those to welfare. If a Social Security participant dies, pay the appropriate death benefit to the spouse or other beneficiary, but, because that parent never contributed to the fund for the educational or other benefits of children, do not allow that children of a deceased parent "milk" Social Security for years.

For example, I saw on TV a widow, not working, who lived good and fat because she had five children. She was collecting thousands of dollars up to the 23rd year of each child because they were all in college, not learning anything. (I am familiar with the case of a divorced lady, too proud to accept welfare, who held two jobs, and all of her eleven children now have either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.) The above-mentioned "fat" woman, after exhausting the Social Security benefits, will probably find another entitlement program which will make a continuation of her good life possible.

And how many older criminals and juvenile delinquents, sitting in prison, are receiving Social Security benefits? And when they receive it, why are they not made to pay for accommodation and food in their "sanatorium" called prison?

So much on the subject of Social Security.

Senator, let us face the truth. Social Security is only one segment in our lives — a sickening segment of mismanagement. But that same cancer of mismanagement is all over....

Senator, we got to the point where we are standing before a national catastrophe (and I am not only talking about economics). Enclosed is a copy of a leaflet issued by the Conservative Digest, listing 175 left-leaning organizations which receive money from taxpayer dollars to overthrow our government!!! (That is the final goal of communist organizations.) I am asking you, Senator, how can America survive such a situation? And just consider that all this is done according to the laws created by the Senate and Congress. Is this the law, Sir, or is it treason?

Another point that should be considered: there is never enough money for defense because too much is being spent on the various "entitlements" and the above-mentioned communist support. Who is paying for all this? Mostly the middle class as many of the big-shots are virtually untouchable because of the privilege given to foundations and churches not to pay taxes. There is much money in foundations and churches, and more and more are being created to avoid taxes. I know that this is being done under the law, but a solution would be very simple: lex posterior derogat priori ("a new law supersedes the old"). Can you imagine, Senator, that one day the law protecting foundations and churches will be abolished when angry and unhappy American citizens, led by Communists, will rampage in Washington? They will do it someday, not because they are communists, but their anger and frustration will be used by Communists. Example: the recent farmer riots in Colorado. Would it not be better if, in the name of "equal law" everybody equally paid their share to the government through a flat tax — without deduction for a 3-martini lunch?

All over America there is today too much dirty politics and too little patriotism and common sense, too much group interests and too little worry about the country. Senator, if the U.S.A. is to survive as the America we have known, radical changes are needed under the slogan "nothing is free — you work for it." And then the ones who work will not just get a piece of paper called the inflated dollar, but they will be paid in dollars covered by gold, and their future will be secured by a strong defense, including the re-instituted House Committee on Un-American Activities and the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, and increased military (Peace through Strength). Otherwise, Senator, it could very easily happen that one of our present leftist (to express it mildly) Senators will sit in the White House as a Russian commissar. (Maybe that was already anticipated by the 44 Senators and Congressmen when they signed the "Declaration of INTERdependence" in 1976 in Philadelphia?!!!...) President Reagan could be the last American President chosen by free Americans!!!

Yours very truly,
Waclaw Bakierowski.

P.S. Too bad that President Reagan cannot send the Senate, Congress, unions, CFR, Federal Reserve, etc., "home" and shut up the CFR/ left-oriented barking "news" media, and instead nominate and Advisory Council and run the country for a while without interference. How beautiful America would then be within a few years! Excuse me for dreaming....
