"Are these the best America can offer?"
(Letter to the Grand Rapids Press, 16 October 1992)

We will soon choose our next president, and many senators and congressmen. Everyone will vote for those he thinks are the best ... and what a pitiful choice we have! Are these candidates really the best that America can offer?

The Democrats propose a liberal, left-oriented, anti-war demonstrator and draft-dodger who promises to turn sow's ears into silk purses, but who does not say how he will pay for all that he intends to achieve. It requires money — apparently he will pull it out of a hat. What a magician.

The Republican Party proposes a Trilateral Commission servant. See how many members of his administration are members of the CFR, which is betraying the American Constitution — promoting a one-world government under the leadership of big business and the international banks!

And our taxes are paying for the scandalous empty oil wells drilled by Bush's son!

We also have another candidate who cannot decide whether he is running or not, and a host of more-or-less-known men who claim to run on platforms that are "in the best interest" of America!

And the men now in the Senate and Congress? They are a legal Mafia. They play their own politics; they give themselves huge pay raises behind closed doors; they overdraw their accounts without punishment; they made a circus out of the Thomas confirmation hearings; and they completely neglect their oath of office and their obligation to their constituents and the country.

Looking at almost all the men now in office or running for office, I see one similarity: lack of conscience!

Voting is my privilege and my duty, but I feel that I have to choose between a number of jokers. So, to fulfill my duty, I have no choice but to vote for Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck for president and vice president, with the clowns of Bozo's Circus to cover the Senate and the House.
