President Reagan is doing his best
[Letter submitted to the Holland Sentinel, 21 February 1982]

President Reagan's landslide election makes me believe that Americans, after having been subjected for over 37 years to a conspiracy bent on destroying America, finally realized that something smelled "fishy" and are waking up. I think President Reagan is doing his best to fulfill his campaign promises to turn America around.

His first priority was to increase our defense, so necessary to make us militarily and politically strong again. But ... a strong America is not in the interest of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR),* as it would nullify the results of their many years of dirty underground work. As all patriotic Americans want a strong America, it is difficult for the CFR to oppose the President directly on this subject, so they are hiding their real intention behind the outcry that they are fighting for the poor. Out of every tax dollar, only 29¢ goes for defense, whereas 54¢ is spent for social benefits!!! In this American welfare state, which was created over the past years, there are ...

President Reagan does not intend to liquidate social programs — he only wants to curtail misuse. Many opponents of "Reaganomics" are CFR members who, in the past, disarmed America and destroyed our economy, like the Speaker of the House O'Neill, the former Vice President Mondale (who has presidential ambition), the unfortunate swimmer of Chappaquiddick Island, Kennedy, who dreams about the presidency, and many others.

To succeed, the President's program needs the cooperation of the Federal Reserve to regulate the flow of money. It seems that the "Feds" are not coordinating their efforts with those of the President. One can only wonder if that institution is also regulated by the CFR?

Americans, I believe that "Reaganomics" is a painful but life-saving operation. Recovery takes time, patience, and acceptance of changes. Most important, to succeed it must have the full support of every citizen who wants again a strong, prosperous, and free America.

* This appears to be the earliest reference to a CFR-centered consipiracy in Mr. Bakierowski's writings. How he came to be convinced of this particular understanding is not evident in the papers made available to the Webmaster for posting.
