Open Letter to President
George H.W. Bush

Mr. President:
Many years ago, when receiving U.S. citizenship, I had to swear loyalty to America and to my willingness to defend this country. I am writing this letter today in the spirit of that oath, because I am not only afraid, but horrified for the future of America. Please, I would like to receive your comments on a few of my misgivings.
In your inaugural address you declared that "we live in a peaceful, prosperous time...." Mr. President, you are not so naive not to realize that we are at war, a deadly war, with the Communists, and they are winning it step by step!* There is no question that all branches of the Soviet military forces are superior over those of any other nation. During the past ten years they added 25,300 tanks, we only 7,600. The increases during this year will be an additional 2,500 tanks compared with only 600 American tanks, their artillery 27,300 to our 3,200, their bombers and fighters 7,700 to our 3,600, in artillery with nuclear warheads the proportion is 17 to 1 for the Soviets. And because the West "loves" Mr. Gorbachev for his promise to "reduce" his forces, we supply the Soviet Union with all kinds of economic assistance, which allows the Communists to spend their money on more weapons, whereas at the same time our Government and Congress reduce our military budget! It is true, there are no rockets with nuclear warheads flying over our heads, but that is only because the better-armed Soviet Union coerced America into co-existence as the only alternative to nuclear war. After all, the Soviet Union is not interested at all in destroying the entire U.S.A., but to take control of our country from the inside with the help of our own government, Congress, courts, etc. — and it works!
Lenin's third step in his programme for world power was to conquer America by encircling it from the south. This was done with the help of America. For instance:
And thus it became a fact that Communism is not only in our hemisphere, but has established bridgeheads for a direct attack against the American mainland.
You, at your inauguration, and members of the Administration, Senate, and Congress, when taking their oath of office, swore to defend the Constitution. Article III, Section 3, paragraph 1 of the Constitution declares that: "Treason against the United States shall consist only in ... adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort...." I wonder how the oath of office taken by our government officials, Congress, etc., can be reconciled with the above and following:
I wonder why neither our Government, nor the U.S. Senate and Congress, does not fight against these extraordinary miscarriages of law and order, of the public trust and money? After all, they are supposedly the representatives of the American people, and not Soviet agents! By disregarding their responsibility and their oath of office, they play into the hands of the Communists and their goal to destroy and conquer America from the inside. To give aid and comfort to Communists is treason!
I prefer dead to red! It seems to me that our Washington establishment prefers red to dead. Do you not know that the late Congressman [Larry] McDonald** warned (and I agree with him) that over 30 million Americans would be annihilated by the Communists immediately after their take-over of America?
I call on you, Mr. President, on your Administration, and on the members of the Senate and Congress, to wake up. What are you waiting for? To see Russian soldiers rape your wives, daughters, and granddaughters before your eyes before they shoot you after America surrenders to those barbaric Communists? Such incidents were commonplace in East Europe after Roosevelt's betrayal in Yalta! Roosevelt could not, or did not want to, understand, and apparently the present U.S. government still does not, or does not want to, understand that the defense of freedom of America must begin at the east boundaries of Poland, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia! Another very critical question to be kept in mind and to be dealt with are those approximately 60 million Ukrainians plus the inhabitants of many other nations who now "enjoy" Communist oppression.
In the early 1980s, President Reagan called the Soviet Union an evil empire, but little by little he fell in love with that Russian bear. You took over and continue that love relationship. If you do not wake up now, and revert back to the true notion of a Russian evil empire, a future change of mind might be too late for America and the world.
Mr. President, I wrote to you before the elections, advising you that millions of Americans would vote for you not because they trust you, but because you seem to be the lesser evil when compared with the far-left-oriented Dukakis. That brings to mind the Roosevelt years when 2,500 Communists were on the government payroll, and after that the various Democratic and Republican administrations which employed in ever-increasing numbers CFR members. With the help of Rockefeller, Hammer, and others like them, not only Democrats but also Republicans were captivated into helping the Communists to achieve their goal of a one-world government.

P.S. There was a time when I wrote in our local newspaper on the danger of Communism, and a number of people asked me if I was not afraid of being shot at by "them." Even an FBI agent, during an interview, asked me if I had received threats against my life.... Whatever my future holds, I have to write to you according to my conviction to "bear witness to the truth," because I would rather be shot than "enjoy" life under Communist rule in America. Considering the activities of our Government, that prospect apparently does not scare you!
Mr. President, you promised more ethics and morality in your Administration. And what about the Congress, the Speaker of the House (who invented the crossed American and Russian flags), how about those Senators and Congressmen still in office who [in 1976] signed the "Declaration of INTERdependence," and others who declared in a letter to the Communist Ortega that they were with him and not with their own government? Are those last-mentioned activities not covered by the Constitution, Art. III, Sect. 3, para. 1?
Mr. President, in your acceptance speech after the election you thanked the people who voted for you because they trusted you, and you promised the others that you would prove to them that you are worthy of their trust. Mr. President, please allow me to give those who doubted and still doubt you, an indication of the programmed policy of your Administration. Will it be an American policy, or will it continue to faithfully follow and fulfill the 45 points from the Congressional Record of 10 January 1963, which constitute a betrayal of American sovereignty? — WB.

* Readers who might snicker at this assertion, written mere months before the dramatic events of the following autumn leading to the visible break-up of the Soviet empire, might want to stop and consider that although the Soviet Union is gone, the legacy of Communism most certainly lives on and, through its offspring ideology "political correctness," it is indeed winning the culture war in the West "step by step" in accordance with the strategy of Antonio Gramsci. Every last vestige of Christianity that used to be interwoven into our civilization is being systematically and mercilessly destroyed, in favor of an ostensibly egalitarian, radically secularist (not to mention increasingly totalitarian) social construct: the very essence of Communism itself, just under a different name! One proof of this, among so many, is how an entire array of what sane, Christian societies regarded as common-sense assumptions are today universally denounced as "fundamentalism" and "bigotry," and the increasing prospect that people who are regarded as such will face not only social and economic consequences, but someday indeed also become victim to the formal enforcement apparati of a police state.
Stop and comprehend the truth one quite intelligent woman observed as the events of 1989-1991 unfolded: the Iron Curtain came down, she said, because the West was sufficiently corrupted and Communized that it was no longer needed!
** Killed aboard the Korean Airlines Flight 007 that was shot down by Soviet forces on 1 September 1983; he was chairman of the John Birch Society at the time, the patriotic group most prominent in its day for criticisms of Communist infiltration of American government and society. Even now more than 20 years later, the post-Soviet Russian government has not produced a satisfactory accounting for that atrocity.
