Rushed Review Episode 12: Universe Hound and Ravage
Posted: January 07, 2009
Info: The odd couple of the Universe line and an early favorite for best 2009 toy, Hound and Ravage bring us some of the best G1 updates yet. As always, need to know info without the fluff and backstory and a 0-5 score. Perfect reviews for just before heading to Walmart.
In Depth: Hound really doesn't get enough love. Seriously, he got shafted in the original series when they decided Spike should be with the more kid-friendly Bumblebee even though Hound's whole point was to be the Transformer who loved Earth... Anyway I mentioned the Animated style to the toy which I think is best seen in all the rounded edges all over his vehicle and robot modes, but also his legs. Big feet and an inward swoop to the legs that makes him stand more naturally with his hips back a little bit, both traits you'll find in Animated. But really, we all know why we got this set... a Ravage that isn't two-dimensional. By the way, he will fit in ANY Soundwave, vintage, reissue, or Commemorative remold, just make sure the Decepticon symbol faces outward andright side up.
