New England Bluegrass Band Directory

With event listings for August '01 through April '02 - RI

The New England Bluegrass Band Directory is intended as a resource for those seeking to hire bluegrass acts for private and public events. To aid buyers who are not familiar with an act, I have included ratings as follows:

	regularly plays festivals/concerts outside the Northeast
	an established festival act playing all over New England
	plays mostly local with a few regional festivals
	plays only local events
	unrated, possibly for one of the following reasons: I don't know much about them ; they play old-time, or some other genre than bluegrass ; they play very few, but very high-status gigs ; an individual, rather than an act ; they disagreed with my rating and/or asked me to remove it

[Note!] These ratings do not reflect my personal opinion of how good an act is. They are based only on the band's past and future pattern of appearances, and on degree of national/regional recognition. But in general, bands with higher ratings have demonstrated the ability to please audiences and buyers.
