Write a well-organized essay that responds either to number one or number two below.

prepared notes ahead of time, they must not be in complete sentences.

You should use a dictionary and proofread carefully before you turn in your paper.

Please don’t recopy your essay. Instead, make readable corrections and spend

the class period making your paper as good as you can make it.

1. Does competition, such as the competition found in sports, at school, and on the job,

bring out the best in people? Or do competitive institutions fail to foster the cooperative

spirit that is necessary for people to do their best and work together to meet their goals?

raised or would raise your children, and explain how your child-rearing practices differ

(or would differ) from or be similar to those of your parents. Be specific.
