Comparison of male and female torso:

Male pelvis:                      Female pelvis:

taller and narrower             shorter and broader

than female                         tipped slightly forward

Male torso:  more massive ribcage than female, straighter through lumbar region, lumbar spinae larger than on female, less space between ribcage and crest of pelvis

Female torso: more flexibility in lumbar region, greater curve in lumbar region between rib cage and crest of pelvis which then extends into a long line from top of the crest of the pelvis and across the sacrum before curving at base of gluteal fat pads below level of the great trochanter. Notice the parallism between line of upper abdomen and the lower back and the lower abdomen and the line in back across the sacral area.
