A Word From Our Presidents:
Dear
Barka Families:
The
2009/2010 PTA Board is
looking forward to an exciting year
at Barka Elementary School and we would like to cordially invite you to
become
an integral part of our wonderful school by joining PTA!
Our
objective this year is
to enhance our already strong community
of staff,
teachers, students
and parents.
We can accomplish this
objective by bringing fresh, innovative ideas and new perspectives; by
building
on past successful programs and by ensuring that every child has the
best experience
Barka has to offer. That’s
where you
come in.
We can only be successful
with
maximum parental involvement.
Without
the PTA many of
the activities that enhance our Barka
community would be impossible. Some of the past events sponsored by the
PTA:
Boo Hoo Breakfast, Monster
Bash, Kids
Go
Shopping, Spring Fling, Turn Off the TV Week, and Staff Appreciation,
just to
name a few.
Siblings are
always welcome at any Barka PTA event! For
a more detailed listing of our events,

Our
meetings are held on
the first Thursday night of the month
at 7:00pm in the library.
We try to keep
these meetings to a one hour time frame. We welcome children at our
meeting and
new this year
we will have a special children’s
area with games and activities to occupy them while we meet. Also
new this year, we will be having a
monthly raffle and all members who attend the meeting will have a
chance to win
the monthly prize.
Even
if
you are unable to
attend meetings, there are so many
other ways that you can help – baking, volunteering at
events,
helping your
child’s teacher, etc.
No
deed is too small - every little bit
helps to make this school successful!!
The
yearly membership fee
is $5.00 per person.
This fee entitles you
to vote on important
issues, decision and expenditures. You
also become a member of the New Hampshire PTA and can partake in the
membership
benefits offered to PTA members by the Derry community.
We look
forward to partnering with you this year to make this the best year
ever!
