2005-2006 Coaching Staff

HEAD COACH:   Del Valerio.

I started playing soccer at age 5 and it quickly became my passion. From U-11 until U-18 I played on select teams, inluding 4 years in the State Premier League. As a youth player, I played in countless tournements including several in Canada and California. At age 18, I was selected to play with a team from Washington on a tour of Germary. I spent about 8 weeks playing a game every 3-4 days. The soccer highlight of the trip was playing in Czechlaslovikia against the U-17 Bulgarian National Team, which we tied 2-2. Following that, I sustained several knee injuries that required surgery and kept me from playing most of my college career. As an adult, I played both mens outdoor and indoor soccer. Within the last 15 years or so, I have coached several teams including boys high school and various girls teams from U-6 through U-14. I was also on the Staff for the Risky Davis Soccer camps back in the early 90's.

I spent about 10 years working in a sportsmedicine clinic based in Tacoma. While I was there, I got to work with several soccer athletes form teams including the Tacoma Stars and U-20 mens national soccer team. In recent years, I have coached the Girls Blue Storm, a team I started at U-6 and now at U-10 they are very successful in many ways. I also work on various boards and committes for the Federal Way Soccer Association. I hold a USSF National 'D' coaching license. Currently, I work at Boeing as a Computing Investigator and I also do computer forensic work for a Seattle-based Law Firm. I am married to a wonderful wife, Kelly, and have 3 girls of my own and 2 stepkids, all involved in soccer, in some way. At home, I spend a lot of time fighting with Kelly to gain control of the remote control so I can watch the Soccer Channel. I hope to share my passion for the game with the girls and help them find all the kinds of success that go with it.
