Wheeler Wins  Junior Northern Divisional
Aug 17, 2008
Updated March 23, 2009
B.A.S.S Junior Tournament Trail – Waveland Lake
The final tournament for the junior BASS anglers was held at Waveland Lake on Saturday, June 28, 2008.
This tournament in both age groups was the one that decided the state champions.  It was very exciting coming in to weigh in but there could only be one winner
With the tournament win and big bass was Brett Rounsaville who had an impressive three fish limit that tipped the scales at seven and three quarter pounds along with a big bass of 4.47 pounds.  Brett caught his fish on a worm in around two to five feet of water.
In the 11 – 14 year old age group, Ryan Snyder was the winner and was Brett’s partner on the water.  Ryan caught his fish almost exactly like Brett but he caught his fish on a shaky head.  Ryan had a good solid three fish limit that weighed in at six and one half pounds.
Most importantly our two state champions are the ones that deserve the most recognition.  They stayed consistent all year and it paid off for these two young men.  Our state champion in the 15 – 18 year old age group was no other than Jacob Wheeler.  Jacob was consistent with every tournament and it all was worth while in the end.  The state champion in the 11 – 14 year old age group was Spencer Branham.  He also stayed consistent in every tournament to take the title of Indiana State Champion.
These two young men are good fishermen and they are the future of our sport.  They worked hard all year and accomplished a major goal on making it farther in our wonderful sport of competitive fishing.  So if you see either of these young anglers out on the water, I strongly encourage you to give them a pat on the back because they deserve it.

Indiana's Jacob Wheeler and Ross Lemens of Wisconsin took the honors in the Junior Bassmaster Northern Divisionals, but their on-the-water experiences were much different.

Bassindy.com Needs your Help !
Most readers of this site have noticed that we have not updated the information for a couple of months and we appologize. But, We were at a point during the season that information stopped getting to us on time and we felt that it would not be beneficial to report on an event a week or so late. This was not a result of any tournament directors fault but a direct result of not having the appropriate resources to attend each event throughout the 2008 season. This is where we need your help. If you like this site and what we are attempting to do, and want to see it continue.  We need responsible individual volunteers that have an interest in attending each of the four main tournament trails in 2009 and who would like to give us a first hand report of the results at each tournament. You do not need to be an outdoor journalist or a professional photographer to reply. A good quality digital camera and a pad and pencil is all you need. Also, businessess that are interesed in advertizing with Bassindy.com we want to hear from you as well. What a better way to reach your target audience than advertizing on Indiana's only online tournament resource. You can contact me by e-mail at bassindy@comcast.net we look forward to hearing from you !
