First, it has been brought to my attention that some of you have not read the rules this year. Rule number 4 states the following: No competitor may be on the tournament waters from sunset Sunday before the tournament until sunrise the Friday prior to the tournament. Official practice days are Friday and Saturday prior to the tournament on Sunday

Toope Tops Field at Patoka !

Birdseye, In. Patoka Lake.. The 2008 tournament season got underway Sunday March 16 at Patoka.  Ninety eight anglers bravely fought Indiana's early spring weather and cold front conditions. But, Bob Toppe seemed to have things figured out as he brought a winning weight of four bass to the scales weighing 13.32 pounds and winning $ 3267.00. 
Only five anglers brought more than two bass to the scales, But Kelly Hook proved that only two would be good enough for second place. Kelly's two weighed 9.40 pounds anchored by a 7.10 pound brute.  Kelly also won Big Bass for the event and claimed $ 2069.00. Third went to Fred Felix with Four bass weighing 9.04 pounds Fred's winnings totaled $ 1416.00

On the co-angler side,  James Royce was the only co-angler to bring in more than one bass. James brought two to the scales weighing 6.82 pounds easily outdistantcing second place by almost three pounds and winning $ 1485.00. Michael Womack finished second with one weighing 3.86 pounds and $ 941.00. Third place went to James (Stoney) Stone. James brought in one bass weighing 3.78 pounds his one bass was worth $ 644.00.  The next I.B.F Invitational Tournament is scheduled for April 6, at Patoka. Entry deadline is set for March 31st. with late entries being accepted the day of registration at Tony's Marina Sat. April 5th.
