Anglers to face higher than normal water levels
The Hoosier Division Walmart BFL will visit Patoka Lake Saturday May 17 after rescheduling the first event due to high water conditions. A full field is expected as Patoka is generally known for producing some pretty good bags this time of year. Recent rains have slowed the Corp of Engineers effort to lower the lake's level from the early spring rains. At one point Patoka was sixteen feet above winter pool. As of this writing it is listed at 7.4 feet above summer pool. On-site registration will be held May 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wal-Mart store located at 4040 Newton St. in Jasper. Entry fees are $200 for boaters and $100 for co-anglers.
Newton Stewart South Marina in Birdseye will host the takeoff and weigh-in at 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.,
