Brad  and Austin Ayers win Got 2 Love It at Patoka !
Patoka,  Brad Ayers and son Austin won G2LI's 2nd event of 2008. The Ayers had a winning weight of 18.12 pounds.  In addition they received a bonus from Bassindy.com for being the top Adult/Youth team. The father/son team elected to prefish on Saturday and not participate in the Wish tournament
May 4, 2008
This allowed them more time to concentrate on a solid pattern for Sunday." We found the pattern pretty quick on Saturday with three keepers that weighed between 10 to 11lbs. As you can see it worked on Sunday a little better" Brad Ayers said. On Sunday we had one fish in the box when a 6-plus swiped and missed my bait right at the boat, a half hour later I caught the second keeper, then had another 6-plus swipe me again but missed . We left the area to give it a break and I caught our third on a place I've never fished before.
The team had definate pattern going. Catching their fish on homemade spinnerbaits. I saw a big fish under a tree but could'nt tell what it was so I moved in for a closer look. It turned out to be a big carp along with several others. Austin said look Dad that one looks like a bass. I agreed with him and thought it was a short one. I looked down to put my foot on the trolling motor and move us out of a pocket, when unknown to me Austin had flipped his spinnerbait at the fish. After hearing the water thrashing and him hollering for the net I looked around and found a 3 1/2 pounder hanging two feet above the water from his line which was wrapped in the limb. I was able to get the net under the fish and finally into the boat.  I was finally able to get our fifth fish in the boat with almost an hour left, Ayers said.
The team played it safe and ended up weighing in a half hour early. They won $2648.00 for their effort which will allow them to cover their entry fees for the remainder of the season. The team of Ingle and Ingle placed second with a weight of 15.23lbs. winning them $1274.00
