Zine Sources Zines, or Fanzines, are privately published collections of fanfic. They are often illustrated as well. In the pre-internet days of fandom, they were the only way for fic to be distributed. They are becoming harder to find, although a search on ebay usually turns up one or two. Thankfully there are still a few places still producing and selling them. An invaluable source before even looking for a zine is the BATB Q-fer which is a listing of known zines, with information about them as well as publishing sources. My utmost thanks to Linda, member of one of the lists I frequent. She recently compiled a list of zine sources and nearly half I was unaware of.
