2007 Alumni Meet

The 2007 Alumni meet is just around the corner! I certainly hope to see many people from previous years, if nothing else, to watch. I am changing the format however to allow for more people to participate. We will pretty much 1/2 all the distances. If you are familiar with a middle school meet, it pretty much looks like that. In this way, I am hoping to be able to score it and see how it goes. Other than Alex Limoges, I haven't been contacted by anyone. I hope that changes as Thanksgiving comes and goes. Email me at bayswim@comcast.net if you would rather see the original HS events, I was hoping to peak the interest of a more variety ages and swimmers as well as make it fun. Probably not a one armed fly unless circumstances require it. :)

2006 Alumni Meet

The Alumni meet went well this year. We definitely need to get more Alumni female swimmers involved. I will invite current female swimmers from Hudson's Bay to participate in the meet if necessary. A couple of things about the results, because everything was done on Bay's computer, all results are from Bay, so next year I will be trying to get the Meet Manager computer to run things and separate things out. 

Next year we will be changing the format of the meet to a sprint meet. For those of you familiar with Middle School swimming, it is along those lines, save the first relay will be a 200 Medley Relay instead of a 100 Medley Relay. In addition, a bunch of people went to talk shop, catch-up and eat at the Blind Onion this year, I would suggest hanging out afterwards at the Blind Onion (pizza) again in the future for a post-meet refueling. December 26th, 2006 is the next Alumni Meet. Warm-ups at 10am and meet starts at 10:30. At Propstra pool, which is right behind MacLaughlin Middle School on Devine.

2005 Alumni Meet

Wow, I regret to say that I've been unable to recover any information from the meet off my computer. It was a fun meet with the highlight of the meet being a swim off in the 50 Free, of course. Whitney Woolard beat out Brad Fresch swimming a 23.11. I would also like to say that the 200 Medley Relay team was pretty fun. I wish I was swimming! The Woolard Clan + Sam Duus brought their "A" game and beat up on the competition. The McClaskey's got help from Craig Limoges, Alex's dad, to help  get in the hunt. The Kelly's stole Thomas away from Bay's team to complete their team, but understandably so, a good time was had by all. And Bay's team, which included Danya was a close second place to the Woolards. The 500 Free also went as expected. I lost to Danya, who participated at State Championships in the 500; I would like to explain... I hadn't been swimming in about a week and a 1/2 and she had been doing the H.S. workouts. BTW, thanks Robbert VanAndel for moving out of the 500 and into the 100 Fly so we didn't look so bad by you beating us by a lot! Kristen Quackenbush also swam the 500 to finish off that event.

So, good luck to Robbert at Masters Nationals. Thanks Michelle Stoler, Anna Grant for showing up and supporting. Have fun in Pittsburg, Anna. Maybe we can get some of the previous years participants involved again. So, let your friends know and keep an eye on this website for more information.
