| Individual Top Times by Stroke-Distance through 11/17/2008 Previous Years State results: http://www.wisca.org/ResultsBoys3A.htm State results And Finally, things went well at State. Brad Fresch finished 8th over all in the 500 with an improved All-Time Top 10 swim, he is now 3rd. Brad also swim the 100 Backstroke with a best time and placed 16th. Alex Limoges swam the 200 IM with a PR in that event and bettered his standings in the All-Time list, then swam a 5th place finish in the 100 Fly as well. Unfortunately, the 200 Medley Relay team DQ'd at State by -.03 seconds, however, had it been a perfect exchange, we would have been a 1:46.88. Great Job to Alex Duback, Logan Sams, Alex and Brad in that event and it was fun bringing everybody up to State this year. District Results for Bay. The Hudson's Bay 200 Medley Relay team dominated the field beating everybody by 4 seconds and earning a trip to state. Alex Limoges, Brad Fresch, Alex Duback and Logan Sams turned in a seasonal best and will be competing at State the weekend of February 16th and 17th. In addition, Alex Limoges qualified in the 200 IM and 100 Fly with a first and second place respectfully; Brad Fresch also qualified in the 500 Free and 100 Backstroke winning both of his events. Congrats and Good Luck at State! Results of Subs. The boys swam at Sub-Districts in Longview last night. Top three in each event move on to District swim championships: Tim Falkner qualified in the 200 Free; Chris Mulargia qualified in the 100 Fly; Logan Sams qualified in the 100 Freestyle and Matt Eaton qualified in the 100 Breaststroke. Congratulations to each of them, Districts will be on Friday and Saturday also in Longview. We lost last night to Camas and Hockinson swim teams. However, we've had a couple of Highlights. The 200 Medley Relay team improved their time winning the event and have only lost twice this season. The team of Brad Fresch, Alex Duback, Alex Limoges and Logan Sams also took second in the 400 Free Relay. Limoges also qualified for State in the 200 IM improving his time and Brad improved his time in the 100 Breaststroke for a 1st place. Brad also was first in the 100 Freestyle. Hudson's Bay defeated Fort Vancouver 94-41 last night at Propstra at the dual in the pool. Bay won 10 of the 12 events starting with the 200 Medley Relay team of Brad Fresch, Alex Duback, Alex Limoges and Logan Samms also won the 200 Free Relay. Alex Limoges won the 200 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke; Brad won the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke; Alex Duback won the 100 Free; Matt Eaton won the 500; and the 400 Relay team of Matt, Thomas Kelly, Loren Brasure and Chris Mulargia won the final event. One more dual meet against Camas at Propstra on Tuesday. Come and support the final dual meet! SWW Invite results.. We had 8 athletes show for the meet and placed fair over all. Many best times considering we missed quite a bit of practice due to inclement weather. We started off with a 2nd place in the 200 Medley Relay. Thomas Kelly, Alex Duback, Alex Limoges and Brad Fresch finished with a seasonal best time and is looking pretty good compared to the rest of the 2/3A Districts. Brad won both his individual events and Alex placed second in both of his events. Chris Mulargia held on for a good finish as he anchored the 200 Free Relay with Tim Falkner, Thomas Kelly and Derek McCarty and brought home some blue ribbons. Alex Duback placed 6th in the 100 breaststroke as our next top finisher. Good Job and we swim Fort on Monday at Propstra Pool. The boys lost to Kelso last night, but not without a few wins; Brad Fresch won both the 50 Free with a new All-Time Top 10 time and the 500 Free; Alex Limoges won both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke improving his All-Time Top 10 time. The 200 Medley Relay team of Thomas Kelly, Alex Duback, Alex and Brad took first as well as the team of Duback, Limoges, Brad and Logan Sams. Great Job fellas. next meet is on Thursday, January 18th @ Camas. Result Bay vs. Kelso. Also, don't forget to check out Individual Top times. Save that Mathew Eaton didn't actually swim a 24.63, but I've tried everything to remove that time, but I don't have the meet manager software to edit that, sorry. Bay was defeated by Skyview, but not as bad as the score made it seem. There were a few discrepancies with how deep they are scoring. So, I would have to rescore, but the results would be the same. A few additions and revisions to the All-Time Top 10 Brad and Alex both moved up in their events. Alex in the 100 Free is now 5th and Brad is 4th in the 200 Free beating out Coach Al Capron for the 4th fastest time and moved into 6th with his 100 Breaststroke time. Other notables, Matt Eaton had a Personal Record in the 500 Free; Logan Sams had a Personal Record in the 100 Freestyle and Chris had a great Personal Record in the 100 Fly and is coming along great in that event. Great Job! Next meet on Tuesday vs Kelso at Propstra Pool. The Alumni meet went well this year. We definitely need to get more Alumni female swimmers involved. I will invite current female swimmers from Hudson's Bay to participate in the meet if necessary. A couple of things about the results, because everything was done on Bay's computer, all results are from Bay, so next year I will be trying to get the Meet Manager computer to run things and separate things out. Next year we will be changing the format of the meet to a sprint meet. For those of you familiar with Middle School swimming, it is along those lines, save the first relay will be a 200 Medley Relay instead of a 100 Medley Relay. In addition, a bunch of people went to talk shop, catch-up and eat at the Blind Onion this year, I would suggest hanging out afterwards at the Blind Onion (pizza) again in the future for a post-meet refueling. Alumni Results Mark Morris was a good match. We were ahead quite a bit at the beginning, but they won a couple of key races and edged us out at the end of the meet. We won 2 of the 3 relays with Brad, Alex, Alex and Thomas in the 200 Medley Relay and Brad Alex Alex and Matt in the 200 Free Relay. Logan's debut in the 50 came up with a second place finish behind Alex, good job to him. Thomas continues to drop his 100 Backstroke time to finish second in that event. Tim places 2nd in the 200 Free for his first attempt at that event. And finally Alex D places 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke for a great race. Only one new entry in the All-Time Top 10, Brad swims to 9th place in the 200 IM. Congrats! The River meet went well for a great number of individuals. We were a little short on points, but some pretty good times turned in! Medley Relay team of Thomas, Brad, Alex L, and Alex D started us off with a win and then Brad won both his events as well as Alex L. Alex D had a best time in the 100 Breaststroke and 50 Free to place 2nd in both of these events. Shayne swam a pretty tough double and improved his 500 time 45 seconds from the previous day. The tough double of the day goes to Loren though, he swam 2 new events and hated both. Being tough as nails though, he sucked it up and did both with only minor complaining, THANKS! Thomas and Matt both competed in the 100 Fly, good job to both of them in that event with best times from each, although a little Fly endurance is needed from the whole team. :) Two more entries in the All-Time Top 10 Brad moved up in the 100 backstroke with an best time and is now number 8 and Alex in the 200 IM with a huge PR and moving up to number 7. And finally, I would vote the swimmer of the meet Loren because of the tough double with minor complaints, he surpassed his predicted times by 16 seconds in the 200 IM and 22 seconds in the 500. Great Job Loren! Finally, thanks to all the girls who came to support and help out at the meet. We appreciate the team spirit, bring more... I think the guys swim faster. Hudson's Bay Boys' team had its first swim meet against Mt View, Heritage and Evergreen. Bay lost to Mt. View, was close to Evergreen, but lost, and defeated Heritage. Lots of great times turned in! I would have to say the Swimmer of the meet would go to Brad Fresch. Brad turned in a near best time in the 500 qualifying for State Swim Championships in Federal Way and also his time in the 100 Breaststroke places him #8 on the All-Time Top 10 list. Of note, Alex Limoges improved his 100 Fly time and was dang close in the 200 Free in breaking into the All-Time Top 10 list. Jarron Johnson-Owen improved his 50 Free time 45 seconds since last week in team time trials and just narrowly got out touched by a 2nd place finisher from Mt. View in the same heat. Great Job Everyone!
