C Cavalry Bugle

This bugle belonged to 1st Sgt. Oscar Charles of the 12th Illinois Vol. Cavalry, B Troop. It was donated to the 19th Alabama Infantry through the Burritt Museum. Design dates it to the Mexican - American War (1848). Is is 12" Long (including mouthpiece) and has a bell diameter of 3 1/4". It is pitched in the key of C and has an adjustable lead pipe. This bugle is demonstrated at school and history programs throughout the Nation.
