Tickling - A Quick Trick With A Soft Cloth
Gather These Materials
- a soft cloth for each child
Where: anywhere
How: Give each child a soft cloth to use as a tickling prop. Sing the song
below, tickling the mentioned body part with the soft cloth. Substitute a
different body part's name for the underlined word each time you sing the
song. Let children take turns suggesting a body part to tickle.
Tune: Happy Birthday
I tickle my toes.
I tickle my toes.
I tickle and I giggle;
I tickle my toes.
Variations:
- Children can tickle with their fingers instead of using cloths.
- Instead of tickling, bounce, tap or wiggle the body part, changing the
song's words to reflect the action.
This activity helps children learn about rhythm and the names of body parts.
