He attended the University of Washington and spent several years in the Southwest teaching and doing post-graduate studies before returning permanently to Seattle her islands in the early Seventies. Thirty years conducting interviews inside the criminal justice system have given Mr. Hoover a complex perspective on the minds and motives of individuals. His knowledge of human nature combines with the strong sense of place for interesting dramatic effect. He lives in Seattle with his wife.

Sid's roots are with Seattle Pioneer families and the life of summer along the water and winter in the mountains at enclaves cleared by his ancestors. Sid has the myriad skills acquired and required by life around the woods and water, knowledge that brings a depth of detail to his descriptive passages.
