BBWUsage

A utility to assist the replayer in determining how much or little the players are being used.  Download and place in whatever directory is convenient to you although the BBW directory (eg. C:\BBW100) is recommended. A full setup package for BBWUSAGE if provided for those who might not already have all the required files.  If you download and try the Program only, and get "Missing File" messages, try the full install offered here.

BBWUsageDocs.zip The documentation for the application can be found in this zip.  There are two flavors, one for Microsoft Word (BBWUSAGE.DOC), and an HTML version.  The two .gif files should be copies to the same directory as the HTML version if you want to use that version of the docs.

MSHFLXGD.OCX (Download and install this only if you know you don't already have it on your system!)

Microsoft Hierarchical Flex Grid is a required file for BBWUSAGE.  You probably already have it on your system.  If not download it here and place it in your \Windows\System or \Winnt\System directories.  Then, click Start, Run, and type regsvr32 <full path to MSHFLXGD.OCX>, and press Enter.  This will register the control with the system registry.

PMBBWOUT

PMBBWOUT V2.62.

This utility was written several years ago to examine data files created and updated by (BBW) Baseball for Windows (C) Miller Associates.  A version appeared in the Fanware package offered by MA a few years ago.  The main purposes of the program are:  to display data online, to print data, and to generate (export) a comma-delimited data file of various categories of data. It is non-destructive to any BBW data files and the comma-delimited file is suitable for importing into almost any spreadsheet program such as 1-2-3, Excel, etc. The shareware spreadsheet program, As-Easy-As, should also work.

The reason for writing this program (written in Visual Basic 3.0) was that although the BBW program Stat-Master provides many reports and options, there were a few lacking features. I wanted to keep the column headers on the statistical lists like batting and pitching, from scolling off the top of the screen as you scroll toward the bottom of the report. I also wanted to use the strong data row and column manipulation features available in most spreadsheet programs. Although Stat-Master will tell you the first xx players with the most homers, I also wanted to see the complete statistical line for these players. So, I created this program of which the main purpose is to generate output for use in a spreadsheet. A typical. modern version of almost any spreadsheet will let you easily sort hi-to-low (or low-to-high) on any column and also provides for record filtering. With it, I can list all the players who qualify for the batting title (at bats or plate appearances greater than X) and sort the report in descending order on batting average.

If the application complains about a missing file, it's probably one of the following.  You can download them here:grid.vbx, threed.vbx, or cmdialog.vbx. They should be placed in your \WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory (or in \WINDOWS\SYSTEM for older operating systems).

PMRPEDIT

I wrote this utility "a long time ago". It was also featured in Fanware under the name StatMaster Editor. The purpose of this utility is to allow users to make direct changes to BBW replay statistics.

Please read the included documentation for more insights into using the program. Included in the utility package are:
