Paul Gagne passes away
Helena Anttila sends along word that classmate
Paul Gagne died after being stricken at home. "He
was truly a friend to all," she said.
The Sentinel notice follows:
Paul Gagne, 51, of 426 Kimball St., was
stricken ill and died Tuesday, Jan. 25.
Mr. Gagne was born April 20, 1953 in Barton,
Vt., son of Eugene and Adrienne (Lafond) Gagne. He was
a 1972 graduate of Fitchburg High School.
Mr. Gagne was a self-employed contractor.
He will be remembered as a friend to all.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Pollett)
Gagne; his mother Adrienne (Lafond) Gagne of Fitchburg;
daughter Amanda Ruth Gagne and son Michael Paul Gagne,
both of Fitchburg; three brothers, Raymond Gagne of
Clinton, Dennis Gagne of Gardiner, and Richard Gagne
of Fitchburg.
GAGNE -- On Jan. 25, J. Paul Gagne, 51,
of Fitchburg. Funeral services will be private and at
the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be
held Sunday, Jan. 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Aubuchon-Moorcroft
Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St., Fitchburg. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests that donations in J. Paul’s
memory be given to the Fitchburg High School Alumni
Association, PO Box 906, Fitchburg, MA 01420.

Welch dies at 63

FITCHBURG -- Local officials
are mourning the death of former high school principal
Bernard J. Welch, who died suddenly Monday December
27, 2004.
Welch, 63, of Jeffrey Keating
Road, was found unconscious in his parked car at the
Forest Hill Cemetery Monday morning, according to Fitchburg
Fire Deputy Chief Gary Testagrossa.
While Welch's wife was walking
on the grounds nearby, Testagrossa said
cemetery employees discovered Welch, called 911 and
attempted to
resuscitate him.
The cause of Welch's death
was unknown, but police are not investigating the matter.
