Wicked Wanda's
One Halloween I'm going to take pictures as it starts to get dark and
after everything is ready.
Not this year, though.
Most of these pictures were taken Halloween day, some before finishing touches were added. Everything looks better after dark!
Pics of the house before decorating. As you can see, or not see, our house isn't too visible from the street so we have to do something to attract attention to it. Once you go halfway up the driveway the house is clearly visible.
As you travel up the driveway you pass the cemetary on the right and a skeleton in a hanging cage on the left. A ghost can be seen floating in the trees in the distance.
Pass the skeleton in the cage and you see a witch on your right. She's pouring a strange liquid into her cauldron and chanting.
There's a fountain nearby. In it are three bloody skulls with more blood pouring from their eye sockets.
A few feet farther on is a very large, very old tree, right next to the driveway. There's an opening in the bottom, apparently made by animals. Sticking out from the hole is a man's wiggling leg, clad in jeans and tennis shoes. There's a sign on the tree,
"BEWARE: Man-Eating Tree." The adults think it's cute, and they continue on, laughing, when suddenly from behind the tree a bright strobing light comes on revealing a masked figure dressed in black, with arms raised,
ready to jump out at them, screaming maniacally.
Some Trick-or-Treaters screams were heard down the street, and we were accused of trying to cause heart attacks and strokes.
Wandering around the yard was the Grim Reaper's Apprentice, also know as Emily. She never spoke, just
picked out a visitor and silently followed them. The TOTer being followed wold keep looking over their
shoulder, usually walking faster and faster. Later in the evening she stood perfectly still in a hedgerow near
the porch. Everyone who passed tried to decide if she was real or a prop. Several were quite surprised to see
her move, after staying still while repeatedly being poked. We did have one pants wetting due to "The Apprentice."

Next on your right was a Bar-B-Que grill with a roasting head. Orange cellophane and twinkling lights made a realistic fire underneath the head.
On your left, what's left of a prisoner shackled to a tree, with a rat munching guts nearby. As you round the curve to the house, there's a sign, "Please don't feed the baby dragon." An old doghouse certainly doesn't
look threatening, but if you come too close, you can see glowing red eyes within the house and a sudden blast of dragon smoke sends you scurrying up the stairs to the porch.
