Our welcome sign was front and center several days before Halloween

This year's theme was "The Dead Zone." We invited guests to bring in someone they wanted to "dispose" of and choose the manner in which they became deceased.

Guests traveled up our circular driveway, went up onto the porch, then back down the last half of the driveway to the street. First Trick or Treaters passed the cemetary.\



I made four new stones this year, each representing a way to perish that we didn't show in the haunt. There was stoned, beating, crushed, and shot.
Then guests started up the driveway.

First up was a woman buried up to her neck in the dirt. Then on to quicksand, where only a clutching hand was left above the quicksand


Next you passed a very large, very old tree. When you passed it you triggered "Vac Guy", a monster made from a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum suddenly started and a very bright light went off in your face. This got us quite a few screams,thanks to PropBoy!

 
On your right was a man being boiled in a pot. At night the twinkling lights and yellow cellophane looked like fire around the pot. On your left was what was left of a man who was devoured by rats.


Up next was the Toxic Waste guy. Close up you could see the pustules forming on his face. His bag of waste lay at his feet and a fogger inside the Toxic Waste barrel produced billows of smoke. A "Warning: Radiation" sign gave you pause.
  In front of the porch was the guillotine I made this year. The victim's head is in the basket.
