Our house is about 300 feet back from the sidewalk, so we put out our welcome sign, scarecrow, and eight foot inflatable spider near the sidewalk for a week or so before Halloween to entice Trick or Treaters to travel up the driveway on Halloween.

This year I scaled way back on displays. My main display was the Mad Scientist's Lab set up this year in a 10 by 20 foot tent.

Guests traveled up our circular driveway, went up into the tent, passed the house, then back down the last half of the driveway to the street.

First Trick or Treaters passed the cemetery, watched over by Franciso, the monster mud reaper.

Then guests started up the driveway.

The stirring witch stirred her cauldron all night with the help of a turntable.

She looked much better at night.

I put out a skeleton against a tree. Bill thought it needed more, so he made his first prop; a covered birdbath base, with a crow on top. The crow's eyes light up green and he says, "Beware! The end is near!." A softly glowing lantern lit the scene. Everyone loved it!

Trick or Treaters passed Timmy hanging captive in his cage, then were greeted out side the tent by a puking pumpkin.

Once inside, they were greeted by my Mom, Patti, who covered up including face and hands and scared a few kids herself.
