May, Fourth Week:

r Be on your guard for late season snow or frost. Be ready to cover and protect tender plants and vegetables. The last day of record frost is June 6th in our garden.

r If you are ready to get rid of some of your turf areas you can kill the grass by spraying the area with glyphosate (Round-up). When the grass is dead, plant directly into the dead grass and mulch. Be careful not to spray other plants, as glyphosate is a non-selective herbicide.

r Continue applying Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) to kill mosquito larvae in standing water.

r Last week was busy, go back and finish up what you may not have finished.
