| Our project homes were in the 9th Ward, one of the areas of New Orleans hit hardest by the flooding of 2005. |

| We met the Habitat staffers - AmeriCorps volunteers. |

| Our main project was to rebuild the flooring system in the house -- apparently the previous group had installed the floor joists too far apart, and made other mistakes. We had to tear almost all of it apart. |

| After lunch we were serenaded by a gospel choir that was visiting the church down the street. |
