Willamette Falls with Mt. Hood View
The City of
Hills, Trees, and Rivers
Incorporated in 1913, West Linn has become a
prosperous southern suburb of Portland. The city's
population is estimated to be around 25,000.
In
2005, CNN/Money rated West Linn, as the
highest-ranking city from Oregon, as the 44th best
place to live in the USA, based on criteria such as,
average income, education level of residents, public
safety, air quality, home prices, fastest job
growth, most golf courses, weather, and lowest
commute time.
Despite the recent downturn of home prices, owning a
home in the city has been a rewarding experience in
many aspects. Eleven neighborhood associations are
constantly hard at work to look out for the interest
of their own neighborhoods and to create the highest
standard of living possible. Each neighborhood has
its delightful culture and features a wide variety
of homes in terms of their age, styles,
and attractions.
No
matter what neighborhood they are from, West Linn
families all share a passion for and support high
standard of living, quality schools, clean, safe
environment, parks, and a smart land-use development
program to protect the city's underlying values in
its natural resources.
