May 18th - last day in China

Today we received our entry visas! We were set to go home! We were ready to go home as well.
How can you easily sum up a trip like this? We flew to a country we had, until about 18 months prior never even dreamed of visiting. We saw a completely new and different culture. We met an amazing bunch of people. We became a family of three! Our daughter was everything we had hoped for and so much more than we ever could have imagined. We became close with a number of our travel mates. We learned how to really change diapers, take temperatures, cuddle a child, make a bottle and to just let her slurp noodles down like a pro.
Words are just words and pictures don't really do any of this justice.
We were taking our daughter to her home, but we were taking her from the only home she had ever known. She had put up with more change than anyone I'd ever met and she still smiled up at us every morning. She would leave her world, but she had gained a family.
How do you feel when something like this happens to you? There's no easy answer, and it isn't just one feeling, we can tell you that. Overwhelming joy, overpowering sorrow, and a whole host of what-if's and how-come's.
Mostly though, we felt love.
We would dearly miss China and we were set to introduce Bella to America. We were going home.
Feel free to email us with any questions or concerns!
