This volume will show a line of descent from Nicholas¹ CANTIN (QUENTIN), early settler of Quebec, Canada, and will include all the maternal lines designated (a), (b), (c), etc., listed below. I have only listed Surnames where I have been able to identify at least one generation beyond their connection to the CANTIN line.

Surnames to be included in this volume will begin with the latest female line in the CANTIN lineage that is not covered by a separate volume. Related families in this volume are shown in chronological order of marriage to a CANTIN. These are shown in detail, as indexed below.

Where known, the generation of each person from his/her original settler is given after the name in superscript (John³). Each individual listed is given a number for the sake of clarity, before the name. Generations in the country of origin will be given with the initial of the country preceding the generation number, beginning with the first known generation.
