 (jj) DANE (DEAN, DEANE)

1 - ELIZABETH², daughter of John¹, b. ca 1600 in England; probably came over with her father; member of church in Roxbury about 1635; married James How¹, see family (q); died 1693 at Ipswich, MA.

2 - JOHN¹, b. Berkamstead, Bishop's Stortford, England; came over to Roxbury, MA, before 1639; removed to Ipswich, proprietor there in 1635; freeman 2 JUN 1641, in court 1641; m.1 before 1600 in England to ? ; she probably died after coming over with John and three children; he m. 2 Annice (Annie, Agnes) Bayford², daughter of Francis Bayford¹, m. at Ipswich (she was the widow of William Chandler) on 2 JUL 1643. His widow m.3 Deacon John Parmenter in 1660, and died in 1693. John retired to Roxbury at some time and left his son John² to keep the Ipswich homestead. He died on 14 JUL 1658 at Ipswich.

Francis², Lt., b. before 1616; deposed in 1673 at over 57 years; had a daughter, Mary.

John², b. before 1617; deposed at Ipswich on 10 JAN 1677 at over 60 years.
