Freeman at Newbury, MA 13 MAR 1638/9; kept a house of entertainment in 1639; occupation listed as a dyer and a gentleman; Captain in the Indian Wars; overseer of collection of arms; Commissioner of the General Court, in 1642, to end disputes between small businesses; moved to Boston in 1650; his dye house was located by a spring 30 MAY 1655; m. 1st to Sarah ______ about 1625 in England, she d. 18 JAN 1663; m. 2nd to Sarah Dole, widow of William Hills, probably the mother of his last child, Rebecca; Capt. Edmond d. in 1671, his cousin Thomas Moon appointed overseer of his will.
