Previous research has established the following English origins of John Lovejoy 1 , who settled Andover, Massachusetts before 1644.
E-1 JOHANNES LOVEJOY , parentage unknown, b. in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire County, England, about 1460; m. Margaret Brinkhurst at Little Marlow on 6 JUL 1487. She was b. in Great Marlow, the daughter of Thomas Brinkhurst.

E-2 THOMAS , son of Johannes (E-1), b. 1490 at Little Marlow; wife unknown; inherited his father's manor; d. in 1573 at Little Marlow; buried there on 29 MAR 1573.

E-4 WILLIAM , son of Thomas (E-2), b. 1530 at Little Marlow; m. Joanna Temple on either 4 JUN 1569 or 21 SEP 1574. Joanna was b. in Stowe, Buckinghamshire County, the daughter of John Temple. William d. at Little Marlow between 1577 and 1582. His widow moved to London in 1585 and m. 2 William Handeson on 13 DEC 1578.
