1 - ABIGAIL5, daughter of David4 and Abigail (Stevens) Tarr, b. 24 MAY 1790 at Danvers, MA; m. to Nathan6 Lovejoy (#48) on 30 DEC 1810 at Danvers; moved to Andover with husband, but later to Claremont, NH, where she died on 14 APR 1852; buried at Pleasant Street Cemetery at Claremont, beside her husband. See Nathan Lovejoy (#48) for children and for her petition for administration of his estate. Abigail (Tarr) Lovejoy's Will is given below:

"I, Abigail Lovejoy of Claremont,Sullivan County, State of New Hampshire, being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory, for which I have reason to praise God, do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament , and herein dispose of all my worldly estate in manner following, to wit:

Second, I give and devise to my two daughters Abby Ann Lovejoy and Martha Diana Lovejoy their heirs and assigns forever the house lot and buildings thereon, situated in said Claremont on the East side of Mulberry Street, containing one-fourth of an acre more or less, being the same place now occupied by me.

Third, I bequeath to my four sons, Russell Lovejoy, John E. Lovejoy Lothario L. Lovejoy, Austin L. Lovejoy, the sun of one dollar each.

Lastly, I give bequeath and devise to many two daughters Abby Ann Lovejoy and Martha Diana Lovejoy all my household furniture, all the provisions I may have on hand at the time of my decease, and all money that I may have on hand, and all the rest, residue and remainder of my Estate, real, personal, and mixed, and hereby appoint James Sperry of said Claremont , sole Executor of this my last will and testament, thereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I here set my hand and seal this tenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two.

Signed Abigail Lovejoy"

Witnesses signing the will were: Albro Blodgett, Jams Sperry and Gratia Blodgett. The will was approved at Claremont on 19 MAY 1852 by appearance of Albro Blodgett, by John L. Putnam, of Probate. A bond of $1,500.00 was submitted by James Sperry, Amos Blodgett and S.F. Redfield, all of said Claremont on 19 May 1852. Inventory of the estate was performed by Albro Blodgett, Samuel Gutherly, and William Rossiter, and showed that her estate contained real estate of $616, a half acre, and a personal estate of $238.28 which was composed of $100.00 cash on hand and $68.10 in household goods, and a note from James Sperry for $54.12. The inventory was presented and approved on 21 JUL 1852. Claim against the estate included a medical bill, with interest, of $32.36 which was allowed on the last Wednesday in May 1854. Sometime after 1827, there was a transaction for Abigail Lovejoy buying the land on Mulberry Street and further dealings with it can be seen by her daughters (See Austin L. Lovejoy #55).

2 - DAVID
4, son of David3, b. 1759 in Gloucester, MA; in 1777 he enlisted for three years
in Colonel Alexander Scammel's Regiment, NH Militia, in the Continental Army. He probably fought in the first battle of Stillwater, on 19 SEP 1777 at Bemis Heights, Saratoga Co., NY. He enlisted again for three years on 5 MAR 1781. On 2 FEB 1786, he married
Abigail Stevens, see family (i), at Danvers, MA. A list of "Warnings Out" from the town shows that David visited Danvers between 1770 and 1795, from Gloucester; his occupation at that time - cooper. He was "warned out" from the town again in about 1782, as a laborer from Gloucester, with wife Abigail and children David5 Samuel5, and Abigail5. This was a customary practice at the time for all newcomers, and was meant as a notice that the town would not assume financial responsibility for those that could not provide their own means of subsistence. The U.S. Census of 1790 shows David4 in Danvers with two sons under the age of sixteen, and with three females. Undoubtedly, they had moved to Danvers in 1786. At age 58, in 1818, he was placed on the pension list as a veteran of the revolution. He died 26 SEP 1820 in Danvers, and was buried at the High Street Cemetery in that town. Administration of his estate was given to his widow, Abigail, on 21 NOV 1820, as he died intestate. On 2 JAN 1821, the inventory of his estate, an allowance of $100.00 to the widow, against the estate, and an order for the sale of his personal estate was filed with the Essex County Court. The records of the inventory, sale and final of his personal estate follows:

"An inventory of the estate of David Tarr, late of Danvers in the County of Essex, Labourer, deceased, intestate, appraised upon by oath by us the subscribers, duly appointed to that service by the Hon. Daniel A. White,Esq. Judge of the Court of Probate for said County, Vis
