Who is it for?
Supplier Document Connector is for Daimler-Chrysler suppliers who have EDI software to generate and handle the appropriate business documents and need a way to transfer those documents to Daimler-Chrysler's EBMX system.
Do I still require a proprietary network or third-party service provider?
No. Daimler-Chrysler's EBMX accepts Internet connections using a special adaptation of the secure HTTPS protocol. Supplier Document Connector uses this method to interact directly with EBMX over the Internet. You may of course choose to keep your current service provider configuration as a backup.
Do I need a special computer for Supplier Document Connector?
No. Any modern computer that can connect to the Internet using a Web browser can run Supplier Document Connector. This would include almost all Windows, Linux, Unix, and Macintosh computers.
Can it handle the time-critical production Advance Ship Notices?
Yes. Supplier Document Connector is specifically aware of ASNs and the expected responses from EBMX. As soon as the FA and AA are received back from EBMX, they are interpreted and matched to the corresponding ASN. You can watch the status of an ASN on the screen as it changes from Sending to Sent, then to Acknowledged, and finally Accepted.
