The large galaxy shown in this composite photo from the Hubble Space Telescope is known as NGC 4921. It is part of the Coma cluster known as Abell 1656 that is about 320 million light years from Earth. This photograph records light that left that galaxy during the Carboniferous period on Earth when many of the plants that we now use as coal were alive and green.
