Religious Education

At Beth Samuel, we believe that self- and communal exploration are the foundation of a strong Jewish identity.

Our formal education begins with religious school beginning with pre-school / Kindergarten students through a child's Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Students gather on Sunday mornings to learn about Jewish belief, history and culture, as well as to develop a strong knowledge of both prayerbook and modern Hebrew.

We also have a strong teen program that emphasizes experiential as well as classroom learnings. Students meet one Sunday per month and do independent study on topics of their own choosing in between. Youth groups for 7th/8th grade and 9th-12th grade provide fun activities in a Jewish setting.

Beth Samuel provides a variety of adult learning opportunities throughout the year. The most popular of these is our Sunday morning lecture series which bring in outside speakers to teach on a spectrum of topics from Jewish continuity to Medieval Spain.
