| Sarah Weeks served as a mentor for several Title 1 third grade students from Delmar Elementary. Ms. Weeks made an author presentation in Wicomico County during the 1998 -1999 school year to share some of her books at student assemblies. Then from October 1999 through March 2000 she collaborated with several of those students on an individual basis to help improve their creative writing ability. Their drafts were sent to her via e-mail messages and she responded to them in the same way. |

Under the supervision of the Title 1 Reading Teacher, Mrs. Ryall, the students were conferenced with and taken through the entire writing process from their list of story ideas, to rough draft, and creation of their own story with the input of our published author in residence throughout the year. |
