| Sarah Weeks continues to mentor my Title 1 students. This year I have chosen second grade students to work on the project. They are following the same procedure established with the first author-in-residence program. They begin with an introductory letter via the Internet followed by a list of ideas for their story. Ms. Weeks will reply to their ideas and send along suggestions for them to implement when writing their first draft. The students will send the first draft and again she will offer constructive criticism of their work. When the suggestions are received from our author I conference with each of the students to help them to improve their story. This process will continue until the students are taken through the entire writing process. |
