I. Commendations

If you have purchased or adopted an Old-Style Siamese from a PREOSSIA breeder and wish the Ethics Committee to consider the breeder for a Special Commendation, please compose a letter and in approximately 500 words tell us why you are pleased with the breeder and why you would like that breeder to be considered for a Special Commendation. We will also consider a Special Commendation for members who have served the breed in an outstanding manner. II. Complaints

Neither PREOSSIA nor the PREOSSIA Ethics Committee shall be held financially or legally responsible for the results of any transaction between one or more individuals or organizations and a breeder listed on the PREOSSIA Breeder's List.

However, all PREOSSIA members are required at minimum to abide by the PREOSSIA Minimum Standards of Conduct. In addition, those breeders whose listings on the official PREOSSIA Breeders List are highlighted with black backgrounds are required to abide by the longer, more extensive PREOSSIA Code of Ethics. If a complaint is filed against a PREOSSIA member or breeder and it is found that that member has violated PREOSSIA rules, this will result at minimum in an official warning being issued to the breeder and at maximum to the permanent cancellation of the breeder's PREOSSIA membership and permanent removal of the breeder's cattery from the PREOSSIA Breeders List.

Notice that complaints against members of PREOSSIA who are not breeders but who have allegedly in some manner violated the Minimum Standards of Conduct will also be considered.

Those who wish to file a complaint with the Ethics Committee must obtain an application, pay a processing fee of $30.00, and will be expected to document all violations of the Code of Ethics, e.g., via copies of emails, letters, cancelled checks, sales contracts, and other objective evidence. Unsupported accusations will not be considered.
