Advanced Content Technology Guidelines

Advanced Content Technology Guidelines

Cobb County has a Technology Acceptable Usage Policy. The Advanced Content Guidelines are considered a part of that policy for any student enrolled in a Cooper AC Class. Any infraction of the starred items could lead to a temporary suspension from using school technology.

1. Save your work frequently as you go. A momentary power interruption can wipe out everything. You should “double-save” your work. (hard drive and jump drive, email it to the teacher and to yourself, etc.)

2. *School technology is for academic purposes ONLY. Play the games at home.

3. *Please take care of the equipment. Don’t bang the mouse or the keyboard. It is hard to get replacement parts.

4. *Do not adjust the settings on the computers. This includes leaving the volume on high.

5. Make sure that you are sending your work to the correct printer.

6. If you are out of ink at home please make sure that you bring your work to print at school. Printer cartridges are expensive so it is understandable that they may not be replaced right away. However, it is not an excuse for not bringing work in on time.

7. Please ask if you need assistance. We are happy to help! If you are well-versed in a program we may ask you for help.

8. *Do not use the .com method of searching unless you are sure that is the address.

9. *County policy says that students may not check personal email. If you need to do this for academic purposes just let us know before you access it.

10.*Cell phones must be off during class. If you must use your cell please check with the teachers.

11. On long-term assignments, do not wait until the last minute to print.  Print a day or two before the project is due-- in anticipation that there may be problems. Do not plan on printing long-term projects at school on the day it is due.  If you need to print long-term projects at school, then plan ahead and make an arrangement with the project teacher.
