Camp 2 is not just one site, but covers an area of about 1000'. Sites are established on ledges that are cleared by hand. Exposed on the open ridge it is battered by crosswinds. Views are spectacular, but climbers can be knocked off their feet by the high wind. Teams usually start to use oxygen when sleeping at this level.
