RULES: This is a non-vetted show; no veterinary inspection
will be required prior to benching. The show will be conducted according to
the American Cat Fanciers Association (ACFA) show rules, which are available
for $7.00 from the ACFA Central Office, P.O. Box 1949, Nixa, MO 65714-1949.
Phone (417) 725-1530. The rules are also available on the ACFA web site, http://www.acfacat.com.
LIABILITY: Neither the show management, nor any member of
the club, nor the Big Sioux Cat Fanciers can be held pecuniary liable for the
loss of, or accident to, the cats, carriers or other personal property of any
exhibitor or injury to any person, animal or property. We reserve the
right to refuse any admission and to remove any person or animal from the show
hall in the best interest of the show and exhibitors.
COSTUME CONTEST: There will be a Feline Halloween Costume Contest on Saturday, October 30. There is no charge for entering the contest, but all participants must also be entered in the show. We have contacted local celebrities about judging the contest.
JUNIOR ACFA RING: We are hoping to have a Junior ACFA ring on Sunday, October 31. More information will be available in September. To inquire about the Junior ACFA ring, contact Camille Rogers at (515) 576-5997 or jracfa@frontiernet.net. The $10 entry fee includes a full cage and only applies to the Junior ACFA ring. If you want your cat entered in the other rings, the fees on the Summary Sheet apply.
CHILDREN:
This show is for the display and competition of cats. While
well-behaved children are welcome, two days at a show can be very boring and
tiring for them. If an exhibitor or spectator does bring a disruptive child
to the show hall, he or she will be asked to leave. There will be no refund
of entry or admission fees.
HEALTH: The club strongly advises that all cats and kittens
be immunized against feline enteritis, calici virus, and rhinotracheitis at
least three weeks prior to the show. Any animal from a cattery or house where
there has been any infectious or contagious illness within 21 days prior to
the show will not be allowed in the show hall. Entries must be free of fleas,
ear mites, and fungus. The show management will remove any cats that show signs
of contagious illness or disease. All claws must be trimmed; if claws are not
trimmed, it will be done at the show at the exhibitor's expense.
SUPPLIES: The club will provide litter. Bring your
own food and water dishes, cat food, and litter pans. Single cages (included
with entry fee) are 22x22x22. Double cages are 22x22x44. Grooming spaces
are 22x22x44.
Novice exhibitors: Please bring coverings
for the top, sides, and bottom of the cage.
FOOD: People food will be available in the show hall. No food or drink may be brought into the show hall.
AWARDS: The show will
be scored for ACFA Inter-American and Regional awards. Cats must be present
to receive final wins unless excused by the show manager prior to the closing
time of the show.
HOUSEHOLD PETS: Household pets will be judged in all
eight rings. They must be immunized at least three weeks prior to the show,
and if they are over eight months old, they must be spayed or neutered. Although
household pets may be declawed, all remaining claws must be trimmed.
TRANSFERS: Transfers for the show on Sunday must be made
with the master clerk during the show on Saturday. No transfers will be accepted
Sunday unless entered for Sunday only. All championship entries should be registered
at the time of the show.
Novice exhibitors: If your cat wins
enough points on Saturday, you may need to make a transfer. We're happy to help
you.
